Is It Time to Check Your Battery?

Have your car battery checked at your local AAA Approved Auto Repair shop before it dies and stalls your plans.

This spring, be sure keep your motor running by checking your car battery. The harsh winter weather, preceded by a long, hot summer, can leave your car battery weakened. That’s because starting your car in cold weather pulls more voltage from the battery, while summer heat breaks down a battery internally. It all leads to a decrease in electrical power—and often, come spring, a dead battery. If your car’s battery is more than 3 years old, it’s a good idea to have it tested (try one of AAA’s more than 8,000 Approved Auto Repair shops). If you do end up stranded with a dead battery, call AAA and a technician will come to test your battery and charging system. He or she may be able to install a new battery—on the spot.*
