New Idea

I noticed a recent thread that was discussing a mobile App for AAA (specificially I-phone).  Just thought I would add this to the Ideas platform, so members could vote on it.

 

My suggestion is that the mobile interaction not be limited to just an I-phone, but all mobile devices that members could be traveling with as well.

Thanks Fletch for bringing this idea forward from one of the AAA Community threads! There is a wide selection of mobile devices available supporting proprietary platforms like Apple's iPhone, Blackberry and Android, just to name a few. Of the current 3 AAA mobile applications (AAA Discounts, AAA Roadside and AAA TripTik Mobile) AAA Discounts is now available for Android users and AAA Roadside is also being developed for Android mobile devices. AAA also has AAA Mobile Web, that provides support for any mobile device with Internet access. Maybe a similar solution may work for your idea. Let's hear more from our other AAA Community Members. I'd love to see more information on AAA.com about traveling with Pets. I'm sure there are a lot of members who could offer some suggestion, advice and recommendations on great places to stay.

Have an App on the website that allows each user to input which destinations he or she has been to and for what purpose (business, pleasure, family, etc)  Then use that information to improve that user's interest profile when they make use of the Suggested trips application from the website.

teens texting and driving

The best way to help our kids stay off the phones while driving is with a manual transmission. It is next to impossible to do both.

Lets get AAA to offer a training seminar at our highschools and Chrysler to provide the vehicle.

Its all well and good that you offer a recorded session for "quality purposes", "protection of AAA", and supposedly the "protection of the member".  However, federal law says you cannot record a person's voice without their permission.  If your members don't want their voices recorded, the customer service representative should have the ability to not record when requested to do so.  I personally do not appreciate being told that my voice might be recorded, and then not be given the ability to opt-out of this.

 

Additionally, not all members want to handle their business by talking to someone, and should have the option for email, or live chat on-line.  Email is a lot quicker than having to take time to call, and live chat is even better.  Another reason to have email would be that when talking with a representative, who has done a job well, it would be nice to be able to send in a comment about it, instead of having to take a survey.  Surveys are usually yes or no questions or on a basis of numbers 1 to 10, but one is not usually to really express either satisfaction or dissatisfaction in a fashion that they would prefer.   In other words, if the rep was rude, someone should be able to express that, and if the rep was not only polite, but seemed to go out of their way to be helpful, that too should be an option for expression.

Hi, my name is Jerry Lopez.  I am an ASE master Tech, and recently published Driver Tips. This book is not a "do-it yourself" guide. I wrote it to build trust between repair shops and customers. The book is available through barnesandnoble.com and amazon.com, however, I would love to personally send you a copy. If this is possible, where could I send it? I would be honored if AAA, a company I highly respect, would recommend my book to new drivers or customers, or use it as a giveaway gift to your customers.

blue headlights are blinding!

I implore AAA to mount a campaign to discontinue the use/availability of all blue headlights (installed on new vehicles and available for purchase after-market) .  There appears to be no standard intensity of the headlights; most are blinding especially when installed in a pick-up truck or other vehicle with a higher profile.  It doesn't matter if the vehicle is coming toward you or is behind you, the lights are very annoying and I wonder how many accidents have been caused by their glare.  I have written to the NTSB, DOT and local organizations, but they all pass the buck. Please AAA do something!

motorcycle trip maps

I occasionally take trips on my motorcycle. We are planning a trip to westwern NC. At AAA locations in my area, I can only obtain a map of nc/sc. The area of interest is small and somewhat difficult to read.

I assume AAA has multiple members who ride motorcycles. AAA should offer detailed maps of favorite destinations for motorcycle enthusiasts,

Last Friday while I was going to Valencia to take my son to pick up his first college schedule our car broke down. It  was hot  and my car would not start so that meant we were unable to  turn on the air conditioner. When the AAA driver showed up he immediately offered us a bottled water. What an act of kindness!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I I hope all the AAA drivers start doing that . What Excellent Customer Service AAA has!!!!!

Facebook Activity

I am relatively new to using the AAA community but wanted to join the Facebook page and when I finally found the Facebook connect button on AAA South website it took me to my homepage not the AAA South to join or see how many members have "liked" AAA South.  I like sharing official pages of products and services I like.  It would also be a great place to help those remember all the benefits of being a AAA member and benefits available to non-members.  I remember at the holiday season hearing about the Tow-to-go program but didn't realize until earlier this year it is available at other holidays too like the Super Bowl or St. Patricks Day.  Thank you for assisting getting drunk people home safely for everyone's safety.

I think a link on the Community home page specifically for comments on service would be good.

 

I want to put in a good word for a AAA driver I dealt with. I have his name, fleet and driver #. I realize I can post a comment on a general forum, but it would be nice to have some assurance it will get actually get seen by a supervisor.

 

Maybe I missed something, in which case, please tell me how to do this.

Good afternoon, I always read the AAA Going Places and there isn't ever information about events in South Florida. (Miami Dade and Broward counties)  We have many cultural / historical / family friendly / international events taking place and they are never mentioned.  In the month of March in Miami we have the Sony Ericcson Tennis Tournament, Calle Ocho, Winter Music Conference, Ultra Music Fest, Fashion Week, just to name a few.

Is it because no one submits the information?  Is there somewhere on the AAA website that we can submit items to be listed in the magazine?  Thank you!

Insurance

When I removed a broken truck from a  policy ,( a $ 1550. Repair would have to wait ) I called got a quote of the new payment , ( having more then one car ) went to Pines office , an agent called insurance company confirming it prior to excepting payment and giving me a receipt . I ended up with a notice of cancellation without explanation  , I called and found out the payment was not enough . that day I also found out that NO ONE CARES !!!!!!!  I was so outraged and left feeling ripped off  after a run around . I pay more with another company  ( that has road service )  The way I was treated , I can't be the only one whom feels this way ...  If I had ben treated as a valued customer instead of an *** and not made to believe that the company is too big to care , I would still be with AAA insurance and not letting my road service membership go at the end of it's term ,  have been with AAA from 1986 .You may want to devise a way to follow up  with and address the concerns of your people that receive a notice of cancellation , there is a reason and most ( in my opinion ) would stay with  and as I have in the pass, given referrals .

Event and Ticket Prices

The website needs to be improved as far as event and ticket prices. I find something I want on line and then go to the AAA office to purchase the tickets. I am told that what I read on line is not correct and I must buy something more expensive or something that does not quite fit what I wanted to buy. The folks at the office are not willing to go on line to see what I saw.
